Getting Started
How do I create my first reading?
Click "New Reading" from the dashboard. Choose a spread (we recommend Three Card for beginners), select your cards from the deck, toggle reversed if needed, and write your journal notes. Hit save when you're done!
What spreads are available?
We include 6 classic spreads: Single Card, Three Card, Past Present Future, Celtic Cross, Horseshoe, and Relationship Spread. Pro users can create unlimited custom spreads with our visual spread designer.
Do I need my own tarot deck?
You need a physical or digital deck to do your reading — the app doesn't draw cards for you. You select the cards you drew from the Rider-Waite deck (or your custom deck if you're a Pro user) and record them in the app.
AI Features
What does "Enhance with AI" do?
It sends your card spread, positions, and journal notes to an AI that generates a personalized interpretation connecting all your cards and their positions. It's meant to supplement — not replace — your own intuition.
How many AI interpretations do I get?
Free users get 10 AI interpretations per month. Pro users get unlimited interpretations. Your remaining count is shown on each reading.
Is my reading data used to train AI?
No. Your reading data is sent to OpenAI only when you click "Enhance with AI," and only for that specific interpretation. We do not use your data for AI training.
Decks & Cards
Can I use a deck other than Rider-Waite?
Yes! Pro users can upload custom tarot decks (with all 78 standard cards) or oracle decks (any number of cards). You can upload card images and add custom meanings for each card.
What image formats are supported for custom decks?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF images up to 5MB each. We recommend square or portrait-oriented images for the best display.
Querents
What is a querent?
A querent is the person the reading is for. By default, you have a "You" querent for your own readings. You can add querents for people you read for — friends, clients, etc.
How many querents can I have?
Free users can have up to 3 querents. Pro users get unlimited querents.
Privacy & Sharing
Are my readings private?
Free tier readings are public by default (shareable via link). Pro users can make any reading private. Even public readings don't display your email or personal information.
How do I share a reading?
Public readings have a "Share" button on the reading detail page that opens a public link you can send to anyone.
Subscription
What do I get with Pro?
Unlimited AI interpretations, custom deck uploads, custom spread designer, unlimited querents, private readings, PDF export, and full statistics.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings and click "Manage Subscription" to open the Stripe billing portal. You can cancel, change plans, or update payment methods there.
What happens to my data if I cancel Pro?
All your readings, custom decks, and spreads are preserved. You just lose access to Premium features until you resubscribe. Custom decks and spreads become read-only.
